Phuket West Coast-37 :
Located on the southern headland of Kata beach with
uninterrupted views of the Andaman Sea, this privately owned,
four bedroom, Thai-style villa boasts a host of luxury features.
It has three main dining areas, two private pools, including a
children's pool and a large, open deck set in a mature tropical
garden.
The main pool has a stunning infinity effect, the deep
sea-blue water mirroring the Andaman Sea beyond. Facing directly
west, the villa is cool in the mornings and perfectly positioned
to enjoy the spectacular sunsets, especially from the sala,
perched above the water's edge.
The Thai inspired design of the villa incorporates four separate
buildings connected by walkways and gardens decorate "Aman-style"
with many Thai and Burmese carving and statues. From the
hand-carved teak doors at the entrance to the contemplative
Buddha overlooking the lily pond, everything possible has been
done to make all aspects of the villa beguiling.
There are 4 bedrooms in the property, 2 master suites and 2
smaller rooms. All rooms feature many decorative items and the
hardwood floors and ceiling add to the Asian feel.
The ceiling reach up in line with the roofs giving a lovely
spacious feeling. All rooms are, of course, fully
air-conditioned and are furnished with top-quality linens and
mattresses.
This room with its large balcony overlooks the pool and out to
the sea. It features a huge canopied four-poster bed with
en-suite bath and shower, TV ( satellite) and fridge.
Main Guest Bedroom
This is located in its own building, so perfect for a couple (or
for parents wanting a little distance from their children just
opposite!). This room also features a four-poster bed, en-suite
bath and shower and a cd/tape player.
Bedroom Three and Four
These rooms are located together and share a bathroom. They have
twin beds which , with the use of many mattress pads, can
comfortably be made up as doubles.
Dining and relaxing
The final building houses the wet-weather sitting and dining
areas upstairs (with TV, DVD and VCR), with the western kitchen,
sun room and dining balcony downstairs.
The fully-equipped kitchen has an oven, microwave, huge
fridge and industrial strength liquidizer (essential for those
frozen margaritas!).
Through sliding doors you move out onto the balcony, the
perfect location for a quiet breakfast or candlelit dinner.
Across from here is an alternative eating area, with seating for
10 on a sandstone terrace, covered for shade, but open on three
sides.
If you prefer to dine totally al fresco the tables can easily
be laid on the pool terrace with just a word in our
housekeeper's ear.
The tiles in the 2 pools (7m x 7m and 4m x 4 m) have been
carefully chosen to mirror the deep blue colour of the Andaman
sea and, on a sunny day, the effect from the infinity pool into
the sea is virtually seamless.
The Sala, which comfortably seats 8 for cocktails, faces due
west for an unforgettable view of the spectacular sunsets. In
the daytime it can be set with cushions as a relaxing area to
enjoy the sea breezes and the sound of the waves breaking on the
rocks below.
Playroom
The "playroom" has its own TV, VCR and DVD and is located under
bedrooms 3 and 4, ideally situated for occupying young minds
until parents are ready to surface!
Housekeeper's Quarters
In this building are also the housekeeper's room and Thai
kitchen. Ideally situated for babysitting duties our housekeeper
is very capable and quickly wins the adoration of even the
youngest of children
Kata beach, just five minutes walk away, is arguably the finest
of Phuket's beaches. Relatively underdeveloped, the gently
sloping shoreline and pristine sands make this the ideal
swimming beach in the dry season and the best surfing beach in
the low season.
The area around Kata is home to some of the top Thai and
Western restaurants on Phuket, amongst them The Boathouse, with
its award winning wine cellar, just a few minutes walk from the
villa.
